Eclectic and powerful mix by Roly Porter merging 13 symbolic records from the last 5 decades.

The Author of the mix is Roly Porter, British electronic music producer, who lives and works in Bristol, United Kingdom. Porter began his musical explorations in the early 2000's as a half of groundbreaking project Vex'd, releasing series of singles on the Subtext imprint before moving to Planet Mu to release the classic 'Degenerate' and 'Cloud Seed' albums. Since the 2011 Porter has turned more into his solo project. After releasing his first critically acclaimed solo album 'Aftertime', Porter has drawn completely new identity and ideology for his audio experimentations. The album was followed by a commission of 'Fall Back' from Alderburgh Festival in 2012 - a collaboration with renowned Ondiste Cynthia Millar. As a composer and sound designer Porter has produced original soundtracks for Big Talk/Film 4's In Fear (premiered at Sundance festival this year) and dystopian thriller Interferenz. Porter's architectural and cinematographic works are always enriched with heavily saturated inventive basslines, vivid percussions, thoughtful hardware modulations and contemporary classical composition motives. Roly Porter's second full length album 'Life Cycle of a Massive Star' will be out on September 2013.

“Secret Thirteen Mix 075” is a smoothly eclectic and picturesque audio selection that reflects Porter's influences. It includes 13 symbolic works by composers and artists such as György Ligeti, Giacinto Scelsi, Emptyset, Suicide, Eurythmics, Paul Jebanasam and other talents. Records were composed and released in the last 5 decades. This fact reveals a surprising background that is full of various instrumentation and musical intentions of different generations. Works included in this mix vary among numerous different music styles such as modern classical, experimental, ambient, grindcore and abstract. The developing of this mix is deliberate and enigmatic, every piece has enough time to expand and unfold effectively. The focus on colossal compositions, synthesized powerful rhythms and expressive futuristic soundscapes is enormous. Energetically, passionately and professionally performed and high-quality recorded tracks sound timeless. The mixing is strict, sometimes spontaneous, also contains emotional, forceful and ideological exposure. Properly maintained dramatic narrative and the whole mysterious concept create a real cinematic feeling from the very beginning till the very end.

“Secret Thirteen Mix 075” is like a supernatural Giacomo Balla's abstract art painting “Plastic ensemble” that depicts light, movement and speed. Same as in Roly Porter's mix, this painting contains abyssal depths, labyrinth type surface and sharp peaks that are covered with cosmic colour tones.
