Ersha
Ersha blends five of his own unreleased pieces with music by Alva Noto, Irezumi, 36 and other atmospheric explorers. Sixteen selections balance luminous space with darker, weightier textures over a cinematic hour.
Listen to the mix
STM 006 is a one-hour, sentimental ambient compilation consisting of a large part of the author’s forthcoming, previously unpublished material and works by other thoughtful musicians from around the globe.
The author of the mix is an ambient music creator and upholder Tadas Maksimovas, better known as Ersha, who now lives and produces in Lithuania. By analyzing and developing atmospheric sounds assigned to ambient, drone, abstract musical styles, he is carrying a considerable body of work ready to be officially released. Also together with Igoris Labanovas, better known as Igloo, they have a group called NOlogika and arrange live performances.
In the records
STM 006 is a touching musical selection which is full of cinematic ambient sounds. Inclusion of creative artists such as Alva Noto, Namlook, Larkian, Pleq promises quality and authenticity. By thoroughly choosing and mixing tracks, Ersha creates a significant whole that carefully balances between light and heavy musical textures. The main attention in the new perspective is paid to the roots of ambient music – extensive, sublime atmospheres. Convulsing melodies and sound effects in the background prevent the music from falling into a monotonous mood; on the contrary, they evoke a spacious palette of listener’s musical senses.
STM 006 is like Carlo Carrà’s painting “Funeral of the Anarchist Galli” where the darkest illusions of the subconscious, cleaved by sun rays, lead into the new stage of life.
