STM 086 - Shapednoise

The author of the mix is Nino Pedone (b. 1989), publicly known as Shapednoise, an Italian electronic music DJ, producer and audio engineer (graduated from SAE Institute) who lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Pedone is a co-founder of techno label Repitch which he runs with colleagues Ascion and D. Carbone. They have published “Repitch 000.2” record recently, including their own works too. Also, Pedone is managing more experimental Violet Poison imprint with a mysterious artist named the same as the label. Their collaborative project Violetshaped has recently presented a critically acclaimed album “Violetshaped” that effectively turned the duo to the world's experimental music spotlight. From the early 2010 Pedone has produced numerous of records, the last two albums “The Day Of Revenge” and “Until Human Voices Wake Us” published on a conceptual Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions and firmly growing Stephen Bishop's Opal Tapes were truly productive and successful. These releases gained artist a worldwide recognition amongst advanced listeners and vinyl collectors. Shapednoise production is saturated with refined noise, cosmic obscurity and powerfully shifting beats that will not leave you indifferent. Pedone has performed at notable events such as Atonal, Berghain, Arma17, Flussi and many other places across the Europe and now he is becoming one of the most welcome artists who always brings a great deepness and harsh perfection with his performances.

“Secret Thirteen Mix 086” is a complex and expressive, sometimes even dramatic audio selection that blends 17 timeless records composed and released between 1960 and 2013, except Filippo Tommaso Marinetti's historical manifest that was originally recorded in 1909. By following Shapednoise's previous mix for Juno, listeners will fall into more vast range of stylistic and records diversity. It is clearly heard how author improved his technical skills and did a great musical research before started compiling a mix for Secret Thirteen. By thoughtfully connecting modern compositions and various contemporary electronic works Shapednoise fully handled a tension and isolation between old and new material intersections. “Secret Thirteen Mix 086” is like a sequential, but optically deceptive Victor Vasarely's abstract painting “Bora III” that strangely stimulates unconscious and teleports to the new level of reality perception. Painting's inner geometry of matrix is like a world of secret passages and allusions imbued with futuristic, minimalistic and spiritual power.
